Hi, I am Lieven Van Meel from Belgium and I work as Account Manager with IT Outsourcing Asia in Nepal. Why would a Belgian young man go to work in Nepal?

Ever since my first visit to Nepal, I felt a close connection to the country, as well as the Nepali people.

When Patrick Van Dun offered me this job at IT Outsourcing Asia, it didn’t take me long to decide that this was what I wanted. Working together with people from a different culture is certainly interesting, because I learn new things every day.

The fulfillment of finding solutions, creating breakthroughs and delivering outstanding service to our customers, while at the same time learning how different people look at different things, is a combination that gives me a drive to go the extra mile every day.

• In my previous work as a video editor for Belgian news television (2001-2008) VTM http://www.vtm.be/ and sound engineer for Belgian television series (1999-2001), I got used to working with (short term) deadlines with quality as the priority. And I also got used to working in a team, where everyone shares his ideas and suggestions to get to the best result.
• As an intense surfer, I know the web. The lack of user friendliness of many web sites has been one of my main frustrations while surfing. Therefore, I will look at your web site with a critical eye, acting as your first test user.
• My background as a musician taught me the importance of at the spot performance. Learning this the hard way, I’ll make sure that your web site or software application has peak performance and that it won’t let you down at a critical moment.
• I believe in the statement; the right person for the right job. To get the best result, I also believe the right approach is necessary for the right person. Cultures are different. My interest in cultures, and my close connection to both Europe and Asia, make me the ideal connection between your office in Europe and your outsourcing in Asia.
