Content Rules.

  1. Without the right content, including the right keywords you loose a lot of chances to get site visitors, leads and sales though the Internet.
  2. Your content has to be original so don’t copy/paste content from another site. Not even when, for example, you get product information from your supplier. Rewrite the product information, because Search Engines penalize websites that reuse content, with a lower ranking.
  3. Without interesting content for your site visitors, your sites "stickiness" will be low; surfers will click away fast from your site when they don't find interesting content. Your chance to build your company brand and generate leads and sales will be low.
  4. Your content (writing style) and layout (text, pictures and video) has to persuade your site visitors to ask for more info, to generate leads. Your content has to create trust and desire to get more information.
  5. Update your website regularly; add new articles, new pictures and include a relevant keyword in the name of the pictures. Make a FAQ list, where you explain more about the topics of your site and where you can use relevant keywords. You will get a better ranking when Search Engines see your site as active. Search engines classify your site as active when you frequently update your site content.
  6. Without a Call to Action you will have less chance to get leads and sales.
  7. Make a white paper regarding your business and/or a product catalog in PDF that surfers can download after giving their e-mail address. 
  8. Try to get the surfers e-mail address so you can send him e-newsletters on regularly bases. This way you can keep your surfers attention, so they will remember your site and your offerings.
  9. Build trust when you want surfers to come back to your website and surely when you want to generate leads and sales from your site. Give advise, share your opinions, the use of certificates and recognized logo’s from market leaders, referencing biographies, can help a lot. Don’t exaggerate when you explain the added value of your services and products. . “We’re the best of the web” sounds a bit too much and doesn’t give trust. Explain the advantages in a clear and neutral way. Keep in mind that you write for the surfers; try to answer the questions surfers will have, in advance.
